Sailing holidays in Turkey

A sailing holiday in Turkey lets you explore the coast without changing accommodation at each stop. On the Aegean and southwestern Mediterranean shores, the Blue Voyage tradition brings together pine-backed coves, coastal settlements and archaeological sites. Days can alternate between cruising, swimming and meals aboard; evenings might mean shared meze ashore before returning to sleep at anchor, on a mooring or in a marina.

Choose your stretch of coast

Choose Göcek and the Fethiye Gulf if you prefer short passages among islands and sheltered coves, leaving more time for swimming and relaxing aboard. Around Bodrum, holidays can explore the Gulf of Gökova, where the Blue Voyage tradition developed. Established cruises combine sheltered coves with stops such as Sedir Island and the ancient harbour of Knidos. Bodrum, Datça and the more open Aegean also bring greater exposure to summer winds: consider how much time your group wants to spend underway rather than at anchor.

Choose how you live aboard

Options on viravira.co for yacht charters in Turkey include gulets, sailing yachts, catamarans and motor yachts. Bareboat suits groups with the competence and qualifications needed to operate their chosen vessel. A skipper takes responsibility for operating the boat and helps plan the journey; a crewed arrangement adds agreed services that may include cooking and housekeeping. For your yacht holiday, compare cabin and bathroom layouts, shared living areas and accommodation for hired crew. These details shape privacy and daily comfort. Agree whether meals will be cooked by your group, prepared by crew or enjoyed ashore.

Starting prices by boat type

Starting prices on viravira.co vary by boat type: • Gulet: nightly €224 / weekly €1,568 • Sailing yacht: nightly €89 / weekly €623 • Catamaran: nightly €283 / weekly €1,981 • Motor yacht: nightly €268 / weekly €1,876

When to travel and where to arrive

The main season on the western and southern charter coasts runs from April to October. May, June, September and early October generally offer warm conditions without the fiercest summer heat. July and August are hottest, with stronger seasonal northerly winds on exposed Aegean waters, so flexibility matters when planning longer passages. Dalaman Airport serves Göcek, Fethiye and Marmaris, while Milas-Bodrum Airport serves Bodrum; allow for a road transfer to your departure base. A week is a common holiday format, while shorter stays benefit from keeping cruising distances modest.

1,994 yachts are available for overnight charter in Turkey.
