Turkey works best as a coast-by-coast charter ground, not a single

in the Bosphorus. The main charter coast runs from the northern Aegean down to
the southwest, then east along the Lycian shore. This gives crews a rare mix of

most forgiving part is the southwest, where bay-to-bay cruising keeps passages
short and anchorages close together. Yacht charter in Bodrum is the classic starting point for Gökova Gulf,

The Aegean Coast has the most exposed feel, especially around Bodrum, Datça

afternoons at anchor rather than technical sailing. Experienced crews can still
choose bareboat on the Aegean and southwest coast, especially when they are
comfortable reading afternoon wind patterns and adjusting open legs. One-way
routes are common when the group wants to cover more coast, while round-trip
charters keep logistics simpler and give the skipper more room to adapt to
weather. Sailing in Istanbul is different from the southern coast. It is better for
short private cruises, Bosphorus scenery, current awareness and ferry traffic,
not a long bareboat holiday. Peak summer has the strongest charter atmosphere and
busier bays. Shoulder periods are quieter, with calmer anchorages when the
forecast is settled.
