A retired military officer and professional underwater rescue diver, he brings a rare blend of discipline, calm, humor, and deep respect for the sea. We sailed on his own boat — a beautifully maintained Beneteau 50 — which turned out to be the perfect floating home for our family of four. The yacht was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable, with wide sunbathing areas on the deck that quickly became everyone’s favorite hangout. My wife and sons especially enjoyed stretching out under the sun with a book, music, or simply watching the waves roll by. The layout allowed us all to relax in our own space while still feeling connected. From the moment we stepped onboard, we felt safe and welcome. The captain’s hospitality is quiet but profound — thoughtful without being overbearing, always a step ahead in anticipating our needs, while giving us the freedom to enjoy the trip our way. That kind of presence only comes with experience and wisdom. Now, a funny story — I managed to drop my watch into deep water… not once, but twice. He also taught us sailing skills — from reading the wind to holding the helm. My younger son, Berk, loved every minute of it and spent hours steering the yacht under the captain’s guidance. It was hands-on, real learning — not a lecture, but true experience passed on with warmth and good humor. What really makes this captain special is that he adapts to what you want. If you’re up for learning, he’s ready to teach. If you’d rather just relax with a cold drink and let the sea carry you, he gives you that space too.
