Our recent yachting adventure was quite the experience, marked by a blend of excellent sailing and some logistical challenges. Our skipper, Jesus, deserves special mention for his exceptional skills and professionalism, especially considering the less-than-ideal weather conditions we encountered. The catamaran itself was a joy—its excellent design and spacious layout made for a truly comfortable ride. However, our experience with the Marina had its drawbacks. The timing of our arrival and departure meant we effectively lost over a day of our trip, which was a bit disappointing. The process for provisioning wasn’t clearly communicated, but thankfully, our captain was a great help on Sunday, ensuring we were well-prepared. The time spent on a mooring without easy shore access was a bit cumbersome, as we're used to starting our journey from a berth at the Marina with reliable shore power. This led us to run the generator during those nights, which increased our fuel costs, particularly since the air conditioning wasn’t operating off the main generator. On top of that, adverse weather made it unsafe to return to Mahon, and in such situations, it would have been reassuring if the charter company could secure a berth. Overall, while there were certainly hurdles, the quality of the yacht and the dedication of our skipper left a positive impression on our voyage.
