Exploring the Ionian Sea by boat was a truly breathtaking experience, as the stunning beauty of the route and numerous swimming spots made each moment memorable. Sailing amidst the clear, vibrant waters felt like a dream, though we did encounter a couple of hiccups that affected the trip. Our journey was shortened by a day, which left us feeling like we missed some of what could have been an even more magical experience. On the first day, we ended our travels at Lefkada Port earlier than expected, leaving us with a sense of lost adventure as there were still several daylight hours available to reach our next destination. Additionally, we found ourselves back in port by noon on the day before our trip concluded, spending the last 20 hours stationary and having to use a swimming pool at the marina instead of enjoying the open sea. We also felt that additional information prior to departure would have greatly enhanced our experience. Guidance on local customs, such as tipping and crew meals, would have been particularly useful. It was unexpected when we saw these added to our restaurant bill without prior knowledge. Moreover, a pre-trip questionnaire to note our food preferences could have helped our hostess cater more closely to our needs, especially considering the language barrier. Despite these setbacks, the quality of the yacht and the pick-up experience were satisfactory, and the marina provided a pleasant environment. Overall, our adventure was favorable, although with a bit more foresight, it could have been truly exceptional.
