Eren Özdal

Eren Özdal has been involved in sailing since 1993 and began his professional career as a sailing instructor and team coach in 2003. He started sailing at Istanbul Sailing Club and, after completing his foundational training, competed at national-team level for the Fenerbahçe Sports Club Sailing Division in centerboard classes including Optimist, Laser, and 420.

Throughout his competitive sailing career, Özdal achieved more than 400 podium finishes and rankings in races held as part of the Turkish Sailing Federation calendar, competing in Optimist, Laser, 420, and various yacht classes. He later applied the technical knowledge, discipline, and strategic experience gained through racing to his work as a professional instructor and team coach.

Until 2018, Özdal served as both an athlete and coach within the Fenerbahçe Sports Club Sailing Division. He was involved in the establishment, development, and management of yacht racing teams for some of Türkiye’s leading companies. Specialising in team building, crew coordination, race strategy, and performance coaching, he guided the teams he trained to numerous championships in trophy and league races organised by the Turkish Sailing Federation.

Having provided sailing instruction to more than 3,000 people, Eren Özdal contributes to the development of both competitive and recreational sailing. He also provides one-to-one training for boat owners on their own vessels and works as an instructor and cruising skipper aboard monohull and catamaran sailing yachts of various sizes in Türkiye and abroad.

Eren Özdal currently continues his work as the co-founder and head instructor of SailGo Sailing, providing training, coaching, and consultancy services to individual sailors and corporate racing teams.
